This policy explains how deletion works on frfr and how to request access, correction, export, or erasure of personal information.
1. Delete content without deleting your account
Where the product supports it, you can delete individual profile cards, photos, videos, links, documents, or other content from your profile.
Deleting public content removes it from active frfr display. Third parties may still possess screenshots, downloads, search-engine caches, web archives, quoted material, or other copies outside frfr's control.
2. Delete your entire account
Open You → Settings → Account → Delete account. Read the confirmation and type DELETE, then choose Delete permanently. This uses your signed-in session and an explicit confirmation; deletion is permanent.
If you cannot access your account, email contact@frfr.link. We may ask for a reasonable ownership check before acting. Never email a password or sign-in code.
3. What happens after account deletion
The application first hides the profile and marks the account as being deleted so it cannot continue normal profile, discovery or messaging activity. It then removes active profile records, owned media and documents, interactions and conversations, authentication records, and related session and notification data.
If a storage or authentication step fails, the app tells you deletion did not finish. Return to Settings and retry; do not assume an error means the account is fully erased. Contact support@frfr.link if you cannot complete the retry.
Infrastructure backups, restricted records needed for security or legal reasons, and copies outside frfr are separate from active account deletion, as explained below.
4. What happens to messages and shared interactions
A reaction or note can start a conversation. We save the original card as a snapshot for the participants so they can see what prompted the connection.
Editing or deleting that card on your profile does not remove an existing conversation's snapshot. Removing the connection or deleting either participant's account removes the conversation and its context from both participants’ access. Blocking is different: it hides profiles and chats from each other while signed in; unblocking can restore access.
This does not retrieve screenshots, downloads, or other copies independently saved outside frfr. Separately retained evidence needed for a safety report or legal obligation may be handled under a limited exception.
Group chats have a separate lifecycle. Leaving a group removes your access but does not erase messages you already sent. Groups close seven days after the last new message; pending invitations expire after seven days or sooner if the group closes. Account deletion removes your active group messages and reactions. If you created a group, deleting your account removes that group for everyone. Reported message evidence may be retained separately for safety handling.
Deletion also removes your card recognition, profile-change comparisons, seen versions and live Showcase entries. It stops queued invitation email and removes saved email contacts even if another deletion step needs a retry. Already delivered email cannot be recalled. Minimal suppression hashes remain to honour opt-outs; signed-out network interaction evidence that cannot be attributed to your account expires under the Privacy Policy's retention rules.
5. Backups and delayed deletion
Live deletion does not instantly erase provider-managed backups or separately maintained recovery copies. Those copies are not the live public profile and may remain subject to their own retention and legal requirements.
We keep a restricted deletion recovery record containing an internal account identifier, request time and completion status, separate from the application database. It is used to reapply deletions before restored data returns to normal operation, not to recreate your profile. We retain this record only while needed for recovery or another applicable obligation.
We do not promise a universal 180-day backup deadline. If you need information about a retained copy or deletion status, email contact@frfr.link. Any applicable legal deletion obligations continue to apply.
6. Information we may retain after deletion
We may retain the minimum information reasonably necessary for:
- security and fraud prevention;
- preventing repeated abuse or ban evasion;
- demonstrating that a deletion request was completed;
- complying with tax, accounting, recordkeeping, or other legal obligations;
- responding to lawful legal process;
- preserving evidence relating to a safety report or security incident;
- establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims; or
- protecting another person's rights.
Where feasible, retained information is isolated from normal product systems, access-restricted, and used only for the reason it was retained.
We do not retain a full deleted profile merely because it might be useful later.
7. Search engines and outside copies
After deletion, frfr can remove content from frfr and use technical measures within our control to signal that a page is no longer available. We cannot directly erase:
- search-engine caches already controlled by a search provider;
- web archives;
- screenshots or downloads made by another person;
- copies reposted to another service; or
- material that another person independently possesses.
You may need to contact those third parties directly. We will provide reasonable assistance when applicable law requires it.
8. Request a copy of your data
Use Settings → Legal & safety → Request my data, or email contact@frfr.link with the subject “My data request.” This opens an email request; it is not an instant download.
We may verify your identity and provide available account/profile information, cards, media and interaction information in a commonly used format where required and technically feasible. Another person's information, security signals, privileged material and information that law permits us to withhold may be excluded or redacted.
9. Correct your information
Where possible, edit profile and account information directly in the Service. If you cannot correct information yourself, email contact@frfr.link.
If we decline a correction request because we reasonably believe the existing record should be preserved, we will explain the reason where required by law and, where applicable, note that the accuracy is disputed.
10. Privacy requests and response time
Privacy rights requests may be submitted to contact@frfr.link.
We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect your account from unauthorized requests. We will not intentionally collect excessive verification information.
Our operational target is to:
- acknowledge the request promptly;
- complete straightforward verified requests as soon as reasonably practicable; and
- provide a substantive response within 30 days, unless applicable law permits or requires a different period.
If we need a legally permitted extension, we will tell you where required.
If we deny all or part of a request, we will provide the reason and appeal or complaint information where applicable law requires it.
